In 2024 year we celebrate our golden jubilee with pride and gratitude. For 50 years we have been working on solutions for the process industry. Our jubilee marks a moment of reflection on the past and a look full of expectation toward a future brimming with possibilities.
Our sincere thanks to all who have been part of this special journey as well as those who are still actively involved in our mission!
We will kick off our golden jubilee year with a birthday party at our branch in Nunspeet, where Suurmond was founded at the end of 1973. Later this year, together with all colleagues from all branches and their partners, we will celebrate this milestone extensively, full of joy, inspiration and gratitude. But our partners and customers will not be forgotten either.

January 5, 2024 was the day. Our anniversary year was officially be opened in our Dutch branch in Nunspeet by our deputy mayor Mark van de Bunte!!!
Offcourse, colleagues and partners, neighbours and local partners were here to celebrate.

Willem Suurmond starts his own company with the aim of building units for industry and gets the representation of MAAG Zahnräder A.G. Herman Schipper soon joins the company and builds the sales of MAAG pumps into a very successful product line. To this day, MAAG is one of our most important partners!
Early eighties, Suurmond starts representing Swiss company Büchi AG, which manufactures high-quality (pressure) reactors made of glass and steel. The portfolios pumps and pump systems and reactor systems largely serve the same market. Thus, both strengthen each other.
Suurmond starts a sales office in Antwerp. This office operates in Belgium and Luxembourg. Ferdie de Jonge is the manager here and therefore moves to Belgium.
Suurmond starts a sales office in the UK, partly at the request of our partner MAAG. Laurence Fletcher is appointed manager here.
Colleagues Ferdie de Jonge and Wim van der Kolk take over Suurmond from Otto van der Kolk, managing director/ owner since 2006. Together they have decades of experience working for Suurmond at that time.
The name suurDOS® is registered for specific dosing systems. Suurmond laid the foundation for these systems back in 1989. Since then, Suurmond has increasingly focused on customized solutions for accurate dosing.
The trade name “Autoclave” for the sale of reactors is officially dropped. This year marks the start of a renewed organization with 3 Business Units.

Suurmond is expanding its portfolio with its own smart designed basic glass reactor that is also budget-friendly.
With this suurGLASS™, customer requirements can be met even better.
Suurmond turns 50. The management still consists of Ferdie de Jonge, Wim van der Kolk and Laurence Fletcher (UK). Many of the colleagues have been working here for 20 years or more.
Third in line, Harry Westerink is celebrating 25 years of service. The average currently being 16.5 years!
