Ever since our company was founded in 1974, Suurmond has made conscious choices for sustainability in working methods, in products and solutions we offer and in the use of materials. The theme sustainability has increasingly gained importance for Suurmond in recent years, but also for its suppliers and customers. We, as a company, continue to look for new opportunities to take further steps in sustainability, taking into account the economic feasibility.

What does Suurmond do to improve its sustainability?

Since 2010, we have been working as fully digital as possible, minimizing paper documents.
We are constantly looking for and investing in minimizing energy consumption, by applying environmentally friendly alternatives wherever possible. Such as :
– Installation of 82 solar panels on our roof in Nunspeet, with a peak output of 32 kWh, in line with our installed capacity.
– New car leases will be for electric cars only
When purchasing investment goods, sustainable long-life solutions are always chosen to minimize the consumption of raw materials.
Repair is preferred over replacement without compromising reliability and quality.
In addition to our day to day activities we support carbon offsetting schemes in the countries where we are active:

Treecological (BOS+),
Make it Wild

It is a deliberate choice to work with local organizations because most of the CO2 to compensate is also emitted locally.
