Precise dosing means measuring the flow of liquid and adding or injecting it into a main pipe or pressure pipe in a controlled manner. The pump is controlled, in a so-called "closed-loop control", via a flow meter. The accurate dosing of liquids is becoming increasingly important in modern chemical processes. Chemical companies are achieving increasing success with the production of specialty chemicals and specialty polymers. To produce these products, dosing additives is often essential. The compact HNPM micro gear pumps have been developed for pulsation-free pumping of very small volumes, including non-lubricating, and inert liquids. Quick cleaning and smart retrofitting with different pump sizes

 

This new MAAG pump series, called “FQ” – ‘quick cleaning’ version, is being released for the production facilities with a constant need to clean and wash the transfer line at the end of each production batch, use different colours, use different additives etc. The pump can be disassembled quickly without needing to dismantle the drive shaft from the drive motor and the seal.

This feature can be applied on the existing pump series - CX, TX, FX, DX by using the FQ kit or the pump can be selected as an FQ model itself.
The great benefit of the FQ is that it can change the production and maintenance style of the customers without compromising on the desired operating characteristics.
The FQ kit provides high flexibility and functionality with easy maintenance and part replacement possibilities.

For example, the DX 20 can be converted to DX 20/10 or 20/5 and FX 22 can be converted to FX 22/14 or FX 22/8.

In this way, the drive configuration and seal flange can be retained and there can be a possibility to have variations in flow rate depending on the size of the pump that will be installed.

HNPM to offer solutions with dosing volumes from 0.25 µl.

Automated analysis devices are the essential basis for extensive test capacities for the corona virus. Through parallel and faster processes, automation significantly increases the number of tests, saves manpower and ensures process reliability.

For sample preparation for SARS-CoV-2, a few microliters of a solution of chemicals and enzymes are dosed. Micro annular gear pumps of the low-pressure series from HNP Mikrosysteme perform this demanding task with highest precision and process reliability. The minimum dosing quantity is 0.25 µl, the pumps have a very small footprint and can be easily integrated into control systems. Fully automated analysis devices can contain up to sixteen dosing pumps and can handle up to 4,000 samples in 24 hours.

Micro dosing pumps are also used in research on vaccines and therapies against COVID-19. Every development step in research institutes at universities, in international pharmaceutical companies or in start-ups worldwide is accompanied by numerous laboratory tests. This is a mammoth task, which is also carried out automatically.
