Due to legislation, climate issues and to improve the quality of our environment, the change-over to a circular economy is vital, but also an interesting challenge. This also applies to the plastics industry. Recycling plastics is a hot topic nowadays! The plastics recycling processes involve collecting, sorting, shredding, washing, melting, cleaning and pelletizing or manufacturing of new products. Most plastics recycling facilities use the following two-step process: Step One: Sorting plastics automatically or manually to make sure all contaminants are removed from the plastics waste stream. Step Two: Melting down plastics directly into a new shape or shredding into flakes. Then melting down before being finally processed into granulates.
